Google is well known to ban apps based on duplicate content but got quite a stretch policy. However, Google decided to ban Fortnite from the store !
Google statement shared on the Verge :
‘The open Android ecosystem lets developers distribute apps through multiple app stores. For game developers who choose to use the Play Store, we have consistent policies that are fair to developers and keep the store safe for users. However, we welcome the opportunity to continue our discussions with Epic and bring Fortnite back to Google Play.’

A new opportunity for other store ?
Earlier this month epic games made a partnership with Samsung galaxy 9 to make it available on android ! This partnership between Epic and Samsung might be a huge opportunity for Samsung Store that got the game available since August ! Tim Sweeney also RT a tweet of Samsung Galaxy :
Huawei as well developed since several month its own Huawei store after google banned on Huawei phone the google play store ! This is definitely not something to ignore.
‘The developer support has led to 81,000 apps specifically aimed at Western audiences using HMS APIs, as of July. That figure has increased 26,000 since February.’
And the CEO of Epic games even shared on Twitter late July « Apple has gone crazy « that can sum up this insane situation !
The creative used for this campaign was also really well polished :
Epic Games, also a store !
Epic Games, part of Tencent is also a store and so is really familiar to those policies. It worth to say that the store competition might get tough in 2020 !
